Last night, I woke up in a state of terror several times, with no real reason I can remember. Perhaps I should not have watched The Leftovers right before going to sleep.
When I awoke for the day ahead, I was determined to carpe diem, even though I was feeling weary due to lack of sleep. And in fact, today ended up being among my most productive days.
Today I received an email from Google apologizing for the outages relating to their Google Apps suite, which I use as part of my core infrastructure. I was not actually effected by the outages, but I did hear about them on various podcasts and blogs. I find their solution to the issue to be fair and I feel confident in the continued use of their service. Following is a copy of the email they sent me.

It may not be amazing to you, but for me, it was an astounding act of honesty! And really, that is sad. Someone dinged my car yesterday in the parking lot in Aliso Viejo, California and actually left me a note explaining what happened along with their contact information.
